January, 2014 Las Vegas Nevada
2014 Started off with a bang as Hecho En Vegas, a new Modern Mexican restaurant located in the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas opened in January with a truly grand entrance featuring original contemporary Sugar Skull art by artist and Da Vinci Case founder Christopher Beikmann. The 9 ft x 12 ft canvas features the artwork "Sugar Skull Sombrero" - a paisley swirl of deep reds, blues and turquoise with the cropped image of a skull adorned with sombrero eyes and a fusion of decorative motifs drawing inspiration from Mexico's Dia De Los Muertos and design motifs from India and Europe.
The restaurant is operated by the renowned Flores family known well in Tucson, AZ for their El Charro Cafe restaurants.
The modern Mexican inspired interior design concept was created by MGM Resorts International Design Group.
